Mommy & Me - (12 months - 2 years) Perfect for those newly interested babies who love to interact with others but still need the comfort of Mom, Dad, or Caregiver. Students will dance, clap, tumble, and play! Helps develop coordination skills and social skills.Creative Movement - (2 years) Boys and girls will sing, dance, and tumble! This is a perfect class for a toddler's first experience with performing. Mom, Dad, or Caregiver is present to encourage their young performer's participation.
Bitty Ballet - (2 years) Little ones will learn the very first steps of becoming a Ballerina. Students will learn ballet technique in "bitty" form and the terminology that goes with each step. Mom, Dad, or Caregiver is present to encourage their young performer's participation.
Bitty Broadway - (Ages 3-4) Sing, dance, and perform! Boys and girls will have lessons in vocal technique, emotion expression, acting, dance, and stage elements. Some lessons include "Under the Sea" and "Carnival of Animals". class promotes self confidence, emotional awareness, and dramatic expression. Recital performance will include Acts from classic Broadway musicals.
Acting - (Ages 3rd grade - 7th grade+) Acting teaches students basic acting skills and concepts, communication, listening, reacting, and working with a group through acting games and activities. Pantomime, improvisation, character development, scene and script study, and proper vocal usage will be studied. Students will perform one or more Scenes from classic plays or musicals for the annual recital.
Musical Theater - (Ages 5 - 13+) Perfect for boys and girls who enjoy drama and singing as well as dance! The class will embrace a variety of stylistic forms from Music Hall to Broadway. Students will learn vocal technique, dramatic expression, and all aspects of the stage. Recital performance will be Acts from classic Broadway Shows! It is strongly encouraged that students take a dance class in addition to Musical Theater, however, it is not mandatory.
Ballet - is not only one of the most beautiful forms of dance, but also the basis for all types of dancing. Ballet is a fundamental component in the training of any serious dancer. It is strongly recommended that students take a ballet class in addition to any other style of dance.
Tap - focuses on rhythm and coordination as students learn the meaning of flaps, timesteps, and wings. Tap class is always great fun because every rhythmic movement is also an artistic, musical creation!
Jazz - is a freer style of dance that is almost impossible to describe. It can be performed to almost any type of music and has a rhythm and flow unlike any other dance form. Every part of the body gets to move. It is fun, constantly changing, and mentally and physically challenging.
Lyrical - a combination style of jazz and ballet performed to slower lyrical or balladic music. It is a dance style with more interpretive and emotional elements; it also incorporates elements of Modern. Students must take a minimum of two years of Ballet or Jazz to enroll in Lyrical.
Modern - or Contemporary Dance is a blend of classical, contemporary and ethnic styles of dance. Influences of Laban/Bartenieff fundamentals will be incorporated for warm-ups, analyzing movements, and developing choreography. This class will explore many different historical modern dancers such as Horton, Graham, Hawkins, and many other pioneering choreographers of the Modern dance world.
Hip Hop - one of the most popular dance styles today, hip hop has become one of the most diverse styles of dance. Emerging in the 1970's during block parties in NYC, hip hop has transformed into styles such as: Street hip hop, Pop & Lock, Krump, and Funk. Students will learn a variety of hip hop styles resulting in a well-rounded, well-educated dancer. Students are encouraged to take additional dance styles along with Hip Hop.
CheerAction Classes
TumblingTiny Tumblers - (age 2) Roll forward and back; jump up, down and turn around; stand on your head and even your hands; all while your feet are in the air! Tiny Tumblers will learn proper technique through drills that focus on flexibility, balance, muscle memory and strength. No requirements!
Mini Tumblers - (age 3) Learn to stand on your head and forward roll out; straight, pike, tuck and straddle jumps we'll drill; also cartwheels, handstands and backbends too, there's no end to what we can do! Mini Tumblers will learn proper technique focusing on flexibility, balance, muscle memory and strength. No requirements!
Kids Tumbling - (age 4 & age 5-6) Leap, run, jump, flip, roll and start all over again! Learn cartwheels, one armed cartwheels, handstands, round offs, back bends, front and back walkovers, back handsprings! It's up to you! No requirements!
Boys Tumbling - (age 6-8) Leap, run, jump, flip, roll and start all over again! Learn cartwheels, one armed cartwheels, handstands, round offs, back bends, front and back walkovers, back handsprings! It's up to you! Boys will learn proper technique focusing on flexibility, balance, muscle memory and strength. No requirements!
Standing Tumbling Levels 1-2 - Students will work on standing tumbling skills, such as, back handsprings, multiple back handsprings, back tuck and so on. Students must possess the skills required to enroll in CheerAction 1 or 2. However, students do NOT have to be enrolled in CA 1 or CA2 to take this class.
Standing Tumbling Level 3 - Tumblers will learn and perfect tumbling skills such as, back tuck, forward tuck, back handspring back tuck, other mixed standing tumbling, fulls and so on. Students must possess the skills required to enroll in CheerAction 3. However, students do NOT have to be enrolled in CA 3 to take this class.
Cheer
Kids CheerAction - (age 6-8) Ready? Let's Go! Cheer and chant while learning proper technique for motions, jumps, cheer dance, basic stunts and basic tumbling skills on the mat and trampoline; including round offs, one armed cartwheels, front and back walkovers and beginning back handspring. Kids will increase flexibility, balance and strength through drills, which will also develop muscle memory.
CheerAction 1 - Let's hit it! Students will be trained to perfect body form on current and new tumbling skills, motions and jumps. Dance and stunts will be integrated. This class will concentrate on back handsprings and combined tumbling passes on the mat and trampoline. Round off required.
CheerAction 2 - Go, go, go! Students will be trained to combine tumbling skills, such as round off back handsprings, multiple back handsprings, round off back tucks and so on. Motions, jumps, stunts and dance will be integrated. Standing back handspring and/or round off back handspring required.
CheerAction 3 - Go, fight, win! Learn advanced standing and pass tumbling, including back tucks, layouts, fulls, whips, punch fronts etc. We will combine jump sequences, cheer dance and stunts. Round off back tuck and/or round off back handspring required.
Stunt Action - Up we go! Students will work on basic and advanced stunting skills. We will practice one on one and group stunts and rotate flyers, bases and spots. class will focus on building muscle strength, balance technique and non-verbal communication. Required for competitive squads.
